6 The draft Enfield Local Plan
SP advised that Enfield Sport had provided a written response to the Council, which had been backed up by a response from Enfield Ignatians RC. The key issue is the fact that the policies in the draft Local Plan do not reconfirm the commitment to retaining playing fields and sports facilities that is included in the borough’s agreed Playing Pitch Strategy. The draft Plan also makes very little mention of the wider role that sport plays in addressing a wide range of social, health and community issues in the borough.
SP said that the Council was now considering the outcome of the consultation . . SP said that he would be doing a further response from Enfield Sport on the issues covered above in due course.  SP
MS advised that the Local Plan sub-committee was electing a new Chair on June 9th 2019.
CH asked that SP send her the initial response from Enfield Sport, so that she could progress this within the Council. SP will also send a copy of the letter he sent about the festival that is taking place on the Bramley Road sports ground. SP

7 Feedback from the last Enfield Leisure and Cultural Partnership Board meeting
SP and CW advised that there was little to report back from the last meeting, which had taken place in January 2019.
8 Significant issues facing individual clubs
SR advised that CASC status had been secured and that a new Lease had been signed with Enfield Council (re: the Enfield Drill Hall).
SP mentioned that an article about the Drill Hall had been included in the May edition of the “Enfield Dispatch” community newspaper.
In response to a question from CW, SP advised that he had met with the consultants undertaking a review of future football investment needs in the borough, but was waiting to see the outcome of their initial work.
CW mentioned the Enfield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) had secured funding for social prescribing for young people and that local sports clubs may have an opportunity to access some of that funding. For example, clubs could seek to secure funding that would pay for young people to become members of their club, for a period of several years.
LC stated that the Arnos Bowls Club facility needed repairs to be undertaken and that he was talking to the Council about this.
AC provided an update on the Trent Park Running Club’s activities and the Berkely Homes development in Trent Park. The club now has over 100 junior members.
MB provided an update on the Enfield Ignations rugby club activities. The club is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. The Club is running 4 adult teams and has over 200 young people attending coaching sessions. The Club has recently received “The Cry” funding, which means it will be able to screen all 14-15 year old members for heart conditions. The Club continues to discuss their Lease with Enfield Council.
The meeting was advised that the new  VAT digital rules were proving very time consuming for some clubs.
CH advised that Enfield Town FC was thriving, with 22 junior teams. The club was applying for funding from the “Young Londoners Fund”.
MH said there was a drive to increase interest in table tennis and to encourage sports clubs to set up table tennis sections. SR expressed an interest in developing table tennis at the Drill Hall.
