8 Significant issues facing individual clubs
Trent Park Running Club - costs for events are rising, in the process of making the case to the council for a freeze on all charges. Simon to write letter of support. Extra costs - have received an email, detailing charges to businesses for putting up banners for events £500 for 6 months. Charges for banner flag advertising also received by Enfield Drill Hall.
Old Ignatians (O.I.’s) - working on lease related matters. O.I.’s are half way through a 35 yr lease. Developing a new model. O.I.’s receive no legal or financial help from the National Governing Body to buy a lease. Useful to know length of leases offered to clubs and how many clubs have leases for their facilities. Clubs please let Simon know a) If you have a lease with the council? b) The length of lease? All
Northampton Exiles - most recent issues have been to do with environmental health. Has been dealing with Massimo Avrili, Enfield Council’s Parks Business Development Officer.
Enfield Cricket Club - drought situation, cost to all clubs, council also because have to seed, general issue to ask about preparedness
Southgate Hockey Club - Berkeley homes almost finished building car park. Hockey side of things ok, both teams still in national leagues. Issues when events are held in Trent Park, the club has to shut down.
Enfield Drill Hall - in process of negotiating a new lease, attempting to meet CEO of Enfield Council. Free council access to the hall is part of the current lease. Applying for CASC accreditation and negotiating on rent increases. Accessing funding will be next priority as have committed to replacing the floor but also need refurbishment of other areas.
