Review of the John Lennox Formula to establish rent levels |
SP and HW had met to review the John Lennox formula and whether it was still relevant to establishing rent levels. They concluded that it was still relevant as, in recent years, the Council and local sports clubs had been agreeing inflation level increases (when their rents were up for review), to be added to rent levels that had originally been established through the formula. There was, however, a need to re-establish this point of principal with the Council. |
SP said that he would arrange a meeting with Keith Hellen from the Council’s Property Services team, to re-establish points of principal and ESAC’s role in helping to set rent levels. |

Insurance Cover for ESAC |
It was agreed that Insurance cover could be necessary in the future, particularly if ESAC became more robust in defending sports clubs in the borough. However, ESAC cannot afford Insurance cover at this point of time and would need to either raise membership fees and /or secure “sponsorship” from an Insurance company who might provide the cover free of charge in return for promotion and publicity. |
All Executive Committee members were asked to consider whether they knew of any potential sponsors. |
ALL |
It was agreed that an increase in membership fees to at least £10 per annum would be proposed at the next AGM |

Web Site Options |
SP said that he was reviewing the various options that had been highlighted at the last ESAC General Meeting. |
HW advised that he knew of someone who could not only set up a web site relatively cheaply, but also manage the inputting of information on to the web site. It was agreed that this sounded like a very good option to pursue so SP agreed to meet with the person concerned once he had received contact details from HW. |

SP said that he had also met with Paul Everett, the Council officer with overall responsibility for sport (plus Tim Harrison and Daryl Braiden) to talk about a range of sports issues in the borough. The notes of this meeting had previously been circulated. |
